Ok. At the Saucer having a few brews with my sister. Here’s what I’m having:
Brekenridge Christmas Ale: Basic Pale Ale with typical with nutmeg and other holiday spices. Not bad.
Oskar Blues Brewery Old Chub: A solid Scottish ale. But honestly, I’m not wowed. Chocolate accents and creamy.
Kostritzer Schearzbier: A solid black beer with subtlies the Guiness doesn’t have
If you like IPA’s (and if you don’t, you’re missing out), this is the best. Hops do not begin to describe this one. Dry hopped with love in Esconsido, California, this IPA is abmer in color with a nice white head. Hops do dominate the smell and taste, but are not over whelming. About as perfect for an IPA as you can get….
Except for Stone’s Ruination IPA and their Cali-Belique IPA…..more later

My sister brought me a a little IPA from the Northeast part of the country: Brooklyn Brewery’s East India IPA. Not bad, not very strong on the hop front and a little sweet(a hint of citrus), but just bitter enough to enjoy.
Happy Turkey Day!
